The Restricted is an elective musical crew from Pretoria, South Africa.The band was framed in 2002 by guitarists Emile and Sid, bassist Jow Feldtmann and drummer Nelius de Lange. Presently Emile got his previous Not My Canine bandmate Hanu de Jong as the band's performer, finishing the line up.
In mid 2003 the band delivered their introduction collection Unsure to wide basic recognition and a South African Music Grants (SAMA) selection. [1] In June that very year establishing guitarist Sid left the band and was supplanted by Deon Kruger. [2]
In 2004 the band delivered their subsequent collection Voyagers. The collection procured the band their second SAMA selection and the single "Desolate Forlorn" helped dispatch the band to more prominent acknowledgment and ubiquity. [3]
In 2005 the band remastered and once again delivered both their collections, with added tracks of old and new unreleased material. [4]
After a huge number of worldwide spells the band went through a short rest in 2007 however became dynamic again in 2008. [5]
In 2010 they delivered their third full-length collection You Don't Will Stop, acquiring them their third SAMA selection. In 2012 the band delivered Downplayed, including acoustic variants of recently delivered material. [6]
The band are known for their extreme and enthusiastic live shows, becoming significant installations and ordinary main events of different significant South African stone celebrations like Oppikoppi, Ramfest, Woodstock and Seasons Wilt. The band has opened up for different global demonstrations, including The Utilized, Rough Femmes, On fire, Underoath and Deftones. [7]
