Kashmir Fortitude Day or Kashmir Day is a public occasion saw in Pakistan on 5 February every year. It is seen to show Pakistan's help and solidarity with individuals of Indian-regulated Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmiri separatists' endeavors to withdraw from India, and to give proper respect to the Kashmiris who have kicked the bucket in the conflict.[1][2] Fortitude conventions are held in the Pakistani-directed domain of Azad Jammu and Kashmir[3] just as by certain individuals from the Mirpuri diaspora.[citation needed]
Kashmir Day was first proposed by Qazi Hussain Ahmad of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1990.[4] In 1991, the then-Leader of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif required a "Kashmir Fortitude Day Strike";[5] Sharif had come to control with the assistance of the Jamaat in the earlier year, and the 1991 occasion was likewise a Jamaat affair.[6]
The current 'Kashmir Fortitude Day' was begun by the Pakistani priest for Kashmir Undertakings and Northern Regions in 2004.[7]
In the US, the New York State Get together passed a goal on 5 February 2021 approaching the Legislative leader of New York to perceive the day as "Kashmir American Day".
